Microsoft Teams has provided all of us with an easy way to communicate while we work from home, or from anywhere with an internet connection. Teams is a very robust, and collaborative tool designed to bring together individuals for a chat, or groups and teams for video conferencing, and the list goes on.

Common and helpful Windows Keyboard Shortcuts
Ctrl+C will copy a selected item to your clipboard
Ctrl+X will cut the selected item
Ctrl+V will paste the item in the clipboard
Ctrl+Z will undo the previous action
Ctrl+P will print the current page/document
Ctrl+S will save the current page/document
Ctrl+F will open the search to find a term in the current page
Alt+Tab will switch between open apps
Windows logo key+H will start dictation
F3 will search for a file or folder in File Explorer
F5 will refresh an active window
Windows logo key+Shift+S will take a screenshot of part of your screen
Windows logo key+period (.) or semicolon(;) will open the emoji panel

2. Scroll down until you see the option for Choose default apps by file type.

Tech Tip: Customizing the Windows 10 Start Menu

For those of you coming from Windows 7, Windows 10 has a quite different start menu; here are some options for customizing it to get the most out of the new menu!

Resizing the Start Menu:

The Windows Start Menu can be resized quickly by dragging the time or right edge of the menu with your mouse.

Reclaim some of your taskbar by switching the search bar to a Hidden state; The windows search functionally is still available by either clicking on the windows start menu, or hitting the Windows key on your keyboard, once the start menu is up, just start typing!

Right-click on the search bar

Hover over the Search option

Then click Hidden

Now your taskbar should look like this:

Once you’ve gotten to this point, just click on the start menu icon or hit the windows key, and start your search:

Shortcuts

Navigating documents or selecting text for revisions using a mouse can slow you down during those long typing sessions; using shortcuts can keep your hands on your keyboard and save you some time once mastered.

While some may still prefer a mouse, picture those moments where you’re working off a laptop, and you’re stuck with only that trackpad; this is where it shines the most for me.

Tech Tip: Setting Up Office 365 Email On iPhone

Setting up your email on a phone is the easiest way to stay up to date with your work emails, calendars, and reminders while on the go. This tutorial will help you to set up your Office 365 email account on an iPhone!

Step 1: Open the settings application and scroll down until you see an option titled “Accounts & Passwords”, tap this option and then in the screen which follows, tap “add account”

Step 2: Tap the option for “Exchange” then enter your email address in the “email” field

Step 3: Enter a description, this will be the name of the email (think “Work Email” or the name of your company) and tap “Next” in the top right

Step 4: In the window that comes up, tap “Sign In” and you will be directed to the sign in page for Office 365. You are to enter your password and tap accept on the page that follows, giving Exchange the required access to your device

Step 5: If you followed all of the above steps correctly, you should be directed to a page with a bunch of toggles for different items to sync with Office 365, make your preferred selections (at minimum “Mail” if you want to be able to see emails”) and tap “save” in the top right of your screen

Step 6: Congratulations, you have now signed into your office 365 account on your iPhone! Feel free to test to make sure everything is working properly.

Windows 10 Snap Assist

Windows 10 allows users to do split screen multitasking when access to multiple monitors is not possible. Users have been able to snap screens since Windows 7, but in Windows 10, users can now snap up to 4 screens into quarters. Snapping screens can be done via mouse or keyboard shortcuts, below will go through how to set up using the keyboard shortcuts, which is also faster:
