On Thursday, Sept. 22nd, staff members and clients of Centaris, gathered around the front of their Sterling Heights office to celebrate their Ribbon Cutting ceremony.

The event not only marked the chance to officially celebrate the new office location, but the chance to celebrate a much larger accomplishment, 35 years in business. Opening in 1981, Centaris has been providing IT support and solving technology nightmares throughout the state of Michigan.

“This was a great chance for clients to meet the people that they communicate with and for our employees to put a face with a voice from the phone,” said Rachelle Moore, a Supportive Service Coordinator who has been with Centaris for ten years. “Our clients are the reason we are in business, so this was a way to say thank you and we are sincerely thankful for their business, and look forward to continuing to grow.”

Today, Centaris has grown to have three locations, including two Northern offices in Petoskey and Traverse City. The beginning of Centaris’s history started in an unlikely place for an IT servicing company, a toy shop.

“Centaris began when Scott Parish’s father, Jack, started the business as a spin-off of the Doll Hospital and Toy Soldier Shop in Berkley, MI,” said Curtis Hicks II, President and CEO of Centaris. “Since then, our office has grown, expanded and moved to various different cities before finding our current home here on Mound Road in Sterling Heights.”

The Open-House event allowed clients to tour the Centaris office and participate in various demos held in the Centaris training rooms. Product demos topics included VoIP phone system, cyber security and protection questions and Centaris’s own Customer Immergence Experience, CIE.

For Centaris, the true purpose of the event was structured around on one of their company core values, caring. The Open-House event provided Centaris the chance to meet and have face-to-face conversations with their clients, some of which have been with the company since it first opened.

“I think the fact that the owners are open minded and willing to look at different options for our clients gives us the opportunity to determine what’s best for them,” said Susan Schulte, a Medical Solutions Consultant and Specialist at Centaris. “That enables us to always have the best interest of our clients and allows us to evolve to become to the company that we are today.”

Today, Centaris’s family has grown to include 58 staff members to help solve your computer nightmares. With help available 24/7 and a management team that has collectively been in the industry for almost 100 years, you can count on Centaris.
